Miriam Hopkins struts her stuff in "Virginia City" in the first of two musical numbers. Stay tuned for the other more interesting number.

Virginia City II
Miriam Hopkins in full cancan mode in "Virginia City" in the second musical number. Sweet, but very short.

Miriam Hopkins - Virginia City
Miriam Hopkins does a brief cancan in Virginia City, the 1940 film also starring Errol Flynn, Randolph Scott and Humphrey Bogart. It is shown in the first set of photos above and in the first video (at about 1:00). I've always liked the element of her routine where she is peeking over the top of the raised skirt with a mischievous look. The cancan is all too short - not very much longer than what is shown in theTrailer.
There is a second dance routine in the film, shown in the second and third photos and the second video, but it barely qualifies as a cancan.

Miriam Hopkins
This is from an earlier scene in "Virginia City", but Miriam does a very short but nice nice little cancan later in the show, as illustrated in these prior posts:.
