L'Atlantide
From the 1932 French film "L'Atlantide", which has a first rate cancan in it and is remarkable for the time period. Highly recommended..

La Vie Parisienne (1936) - Links
A "new" film with a cancan. The video quality is bad and the original editing mars the production, but there are a few nice scenes in it. One is reminiscent of "L'Atlantide"

L'Atlantide contains one of the best early "classic" cancans. See these prior posts:

L'Atlantide
This is a remarkably clear print of one of the most classic of classic cancans, from the French film, L'Atlantide, from 1932.
The costumes and choreography have rarely been surpassed. I've been waiting for this to show up on You Tube, and it finally did courtesy of kebekmac1 who posted this on You Tube at:

It make me wonder if there's a Blu-ray of this out there somewhere.

Florelle
Florelle, the lead cancan dancer in L'Atlantide, in a couple of poses from another unidentified film, plus a repeat from L'Atlantide. She had an amazingly long film career spanning the years from 1912-1956.

L'Atlantide
I've always thought the cancan from the 1932 film L'Atlantide was one of the better ones, especially given the time period and camera technology they had to work with. Here are some slightly soft video captures from it to illustrate:
To get the full effect you need to see the video clip they were taken from, which is reasonably sharp and really shows off the movement of their classic period frills to great effect as they dance:
