Mantovani Plays the Music of France

Anybody have Roku (or a similar service) ?

I discovered an excellent classic cancan on a show called "Mantovani and his Orchestra" that is available on a service called, FilmRise.   The episode is called "Mantovani Plays the Music of France" S01:E10.  Cancan is at 21:10.

I don't recall the show from television, but it aired in 1959.

Absolutely worth watching.

FilmRise has a YouTube channel. but this show isn't featured there:

Lady for a Night 1942

A recent reposting of this film at You Tube leads to this post at Classic Cancan, which deserves another look.  It contains a not-to-be-missed cancan performance from the 1940s..  Highly recommended.

The lead cancan dancer was Corinne Valdez, who deserves special recognition.

Twenties

From the 1920s I believe based on the hair style.  Possibly from the Moulin Rouge.

Early 30s

A second photo of the same dancer, probably from the Early Thirties, based on costume and hairstyle. Neither she nor her troupe is identified.    Note the similarity of her panties to the photo in the mastheads of Classic Cancan and Club CCD.
