Fernsehunterhaltung Silvester 1966
Don't touch that dial!
From a 1966 German holiday television program. I am not sure of the identity of the dance group and am not sure if this is from West Germany or the DDR. The atmosphere and costuming are definitely early 60's.
The original, along with various other segments of this program, can be seen at You Tube, where the poster was fritz51210.

The quality of the video is very good for the time period.

La Casta Susana (Argentina 1944)
I am familiar with the 1963 French-Spanish film of this name that contains two very nice cancans, but finding this came as a very pleasant surprise.
It's a true spectacle with classic costumes and more dancers than you can count. I'd love to see a higher resolution version of this.
The full film is posted on You Tube. This is excerpted from part 2, which you can find at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BIXJOKcvF6w (starts about 28.30, although there is a music hall scene earlier that doen't qualify as a cancan)

Joan O'Meara's Can Can Girls - Circa 1965
I really have a fondness for amateur cancan performances. Here's a wonderful circa 1965 rehearsal in costume captured on super 8 or perhaps just 8mm. The dancing is suprisingly good for an outdoors rehearsal with non-professional dancers.
This was posted by Bucky315 at You Tube where you can read more about the dancers:

Al Osta Hassan 1952
A classic cancan from a very unlikely place - Egypt. Three cheers for King Farouk who I think was in charge in 1952.
The dancers are Liz and Lin, who apparently were belly dancers of some note. I'm happy they broadened their horizons.

L'Atlantide
This is a remarkably clear print of one of the most classic of classic cancans, from the French film, L'Atlantide, from 1932.
The costumes and choreography have rarely been surpassed. I've been waiting for this to show up on You Tube, and it finally did courtesy of kebekmac1 who posted this on You Tube at:

It make me wonder if there's a Blu-ray of this out there somewhere.

LA VIUDA ALEGRE
Adding to the Latin American collection is a fairly low impact cancan from The Merry Widow performed at a zarzuela festival in Lima circa 1972. Poor quality video, but interesting for the time and place. Extra points for the stockings.

Bailarinas Can Can
Here's a very short clip from the Cinex Fundacion archives, in Colombia, featuring some very shapely dancers in classic costumes. It's very poor quality, probably transcribed from 8MM, but it gives a novel look at the cancan South American style circa the Forties or Fiftes..

The Haunted Strangler - Joan Murray
I've been waiting for someone to post this one. It's "The Haunted Strangler", one of the very best classic period films for cancan lovers. This nice clear print was posted at You Tube by ptjohnst at:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mARdQaMpeew
It's seems speeded up a little here, but it's a great sequence nontheless. They don't make them like they used to.
Many thanks to ptjohnst.

The real thing
I haven't seen this clip before, but it appears to be the real thing from the 1890's or so. The quality of the film is very impressive for the time period. Perhaps it was filmed outside for the better lighting. There was no identifying information on You Tube where it was posted by photoartemedia:
