A little further research has led to some great additional photos of the Hiller Girls at a
Facebook site dedicated to them. Here are some samples for review purposes:

The top photo is from the German film, "Schön muß man sein" (One Must Be Handsome) (1950-51). As the costumes would suggest, this is another very nice cancan spectacle. Following the posting of the The Two Ronnies - Old-Fashioned Christmas Mystery, this is now high on my wish list of videos I hope to see posted at You Tube. There are currently some excerpts posted on You Tube, but they do not include the crucial scene.
As a stopgap, you might want to have a look at this temporary posting:

Schön muß man sein (1951)
This is one of the great classic-era cancans on film. It is from the 1951 German film, "Schön muß man sein". The dancers are the Hiller Girls, longtime practicioners of the cancan.
The cancan starts at 48:00. The video is in 480p but still pretty clear.

Scala (Hiller) Girls
Chorus girls (possibly the Hiller girls) in full flash mode. They are performing here at the Scala theater. The photo dates from 1935 and was taken by Willy Pragher who photographed many revue shows of the period at various theaters in Berlin.
This is a photo from the Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek website that in turn comes from the holdings of the Landesarchiv Baden-Württemberg. The Deutsche Digitale Bibliothek site is located at:

Little Red Riding Hoods?
Dancers (the Fanchonettes, I think) perform a cancan-like step and show off their frillies in Fanchon & Marco's "Peasant" Idea. The photo is by Harry Wenger of Los Angeles.
This is from a EBay auction by fotofraulein:

See fotofraulein's store with many more period photos at:

Fanchon and Marco were a brother-sister team who produced large stage shows in the 1920s and 30s. Each production number was called an "Idea". See their site and this Flickr page for more information and photos:
